Best Places to shop in Bali

Discovery Mall

To some, shopping is a 'serious' hobby. Where better to practise your bargaining skills in Bali? Unless the product is price-tagged, in Bali...bargaining is a must!

Try not to accept the first price offered, as most vendors charge 50% to 100% extra. So, look around, take your time (if you're prepared to spend time), bargain and then buy.

What to buy and where?

In the tourist hubs of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak, almost everything is available.

Paralel to the beach, there's Legian Street filled with shops for all needs and tastes. You can buy anything from sarongs, t-shirts, sandals, shoes, bags, wooden statues, silver jewelry and surf boards.

You can also decorate your home with items from many excellent antique and interior-design shops.

Shopping in Seminyak gives you a breather from the busier streets of Kuta. Many of the boutiques are filled with fabulous and edgy designer homeware and a great range of 'street-smart' fashion.
Try to walk in to the famous handycraft 'super-market', Geneva Handycraft. You can find thousands of items of handycraft there.

Discovery Mall is an impressive complex of stores and restaurants right on the Kuta Beach. There travellers can buy a whole array of goods at Bali prices. Another shopping complex you should stop by is Kuta Square (see picture below).
