Some visitors did had their bad experience on changing money in Bali exspecially in Kuta region. Before changing the money you should know about the denominations of our Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).
These are some tips on changing money in Bali:
- Change only a very small amount at the airport, as you will get at least 2% more outside.
- Avoid money changers who advertise very attractive rates but then deduct comission; you usually end up with less than from those who charge no comission.
- USD100 in banknote denomination gets the highest rate than smaller denominations. The banknotes must be smooth & clean.
- The most important thing, recount your money (Indonesian Rupiah) by yourself before leaving!
- Bring calculator. It's very useful both when changing money and bargaining souvenirs with the vendors.
