Ubud Art Market, Bali

Ubud Palace
Dirty Duck Restaurant

Ubud Art Market or Pasar Seni Ubud is the most favorite shopping spot for tourists. Located right in Central Ubud, in front of famous Ubud Palace.
The market usually getting more crowded after lunch time because many tourists on Groups that taking by buses will have their best shopping time there so the parking space is quite difficult to find.

You'll at least need 1 day to explore part of Ubud's must stop by spots.
It could be happened if you're traveling free and easy by yourself or in a very small family group. If you stay in Kuta or Nusa Dua area, it is suggested you starting your tour in the morning. It will take about 1 hour drive from Kuta to Ubud. You can have your first stop by Ubud's sacred monkey forest then go to get your best 'morning price' (the Balinese believe that the 1st sale of the morning will bring them good fortune and more sales throught out the day so usually they do not want to lose the 1st sale).

After that you can visit Ubud Palace by walking just right in front of the market.

For lunch there are so many places for you to choose from five star restaurant like The Mosaic, Cafes along the main road of Ubud and of course for some visitors sometimes they would rather like to 'test' balinese traditional cuisine.

The famous balinese cuisine is Babi Guling or Roasted Pork but once you visit Ubud area there is one traditional balinese cuisine you should try. This kind of cuisine used to be Palace's cuisine. It means only Palace's Family (The Kngs') have the opportunity to have this kind of meal, named Bebek 'Bengil' or 'Dirty' Duck.
Since this kind of cuisine is very famous nowadays and anyone can have it easily in many restaurants in Ubud, as my experience there is only one as the pioneer of Dirty Duck Restaurant (presented to tourists) and considered to be the 'original' Dirty Duck restaurant, it is Bebek Bengil Restaurant located at about 5 minutes walk from Monkey Forest.
